Eastern Dry Coffee Mill
About us
It is thought that coffee was introduced in Rwanda in 1904 by German missionaries. In the 1930’s, there was growing interest in the coffee developed by the rural families which became a good source of income for the community. The government then encouraged low quality, high-volume production. Even with this low grade coffee production, coffee played a considerable role in the economic development of the country because it was one of the few cash crops.
Rwanda produces the world’s finest Arabica coffee. These coffee beans have a rich color and deliciously refreshing aroma.
Rwanda has a high altitude with a range from 1200 to 1800 meters above sea level, consistent climate and rich African soil with high yield potential for coffee.
Eastern Dry Coffee Mill Limited is passionate about excellence in coffee, creating community, and promoting justice. We are also dedicated to serving our customers and Rwandan coffee growers.
Our 100% Arabica coffee is a naturally grown specialty coffee which is grown in the Eastern Province of Rwanda. The company is run by a Rwandan with coffee expertise and we employ local Rwandans and work directly with the local farmers. We aim to aid economic and community development in Rwanda.
